Stockholm, Sweden – October 28, 2021

Eurostep is bringing the ShareAspace iAIM (integrated Asset Information Management) product to the market in a 1.0 version. ShareAspace iAIM builds on the ShareAspace platform with features that are key for the AEC and Plant industries.

As a recognized leader in Product Lifecycle Information Management, we have identified the shortcomings in AEC and Plant information management, and configured ShareAspace iAIM to address these. This is done in the same way as we are building game changing software and solutions for Aerospace, Defence, Manufacturing, Automotive and similar industries“, says Mr Håkan Kårdén, Eurostep’s Director AEC and Plant.

The concepts of Digital Twins and Thread are not well supported by IT vendors today in AEC and Plant. Either they focus on the construction or project phase with Project Information Management (PIM) or they do Asset Management. Concepts like Common Data Environment are used but they are typically limited to PIM. On the other hand, the software vendors in Asset Management are focusing on that part of the lifecycle and not the PIM part. This results in issues with data handover from PIM to AIM, and a lack of possibilities to update the Digital Twins. Current solutions are designed with certain processes in mind and not from the viewpoint that the information itself is a key asset and needs to be managed as such.

As ShareAspace iAIM is based on the ISO PLCS standard, it supports an integrated information model covering the complete life cycle of a built asset and provides its Digital Twins and Digital Thread. ShareAspace iAIM connects all data across the life cycle, keeps the asset and the configuration of its components updated in one place. ShareAspace iAIM has built-in support for the change process with traceability across the integrated Asset Information.

ShareAspace iAIM is or will be supporting all key open standards, processes and data, in the AEC and Plant industries. Among these are IFC (ISO 16739), IEC/ISO 81346, ISO 10303, OGC Inspire, ISO 15926, CFIHOS, DEXPI and RealEstateCore.

ShareAspace iAIM does not replace authoring tools like CAD, CAE, CMMS etc. but rather provides the master data for the Asset Information. ShareAspace iAIM does not compete with BIM but adds the life cycle information to BIM as well as moving BIM into Level 3. ShareAspace iAIM makes core data accessible during the whole life cycle of an asset, reusing data created once: re-entering of data is not needed anymore.

We are adding the life cycle management of data, from either proprietary or open standards like IFC. As ShareAspace iAIM is built on top of ShareAspace, the key functionality and features of information sharing and ownership are available as well as the features allowing a network of organizations to access up-to-date and configured data in one single place. We are pleased to launch v 1.0 in such short time and we really believe we are bringing another game changer to the market. The AEC and Plant industries are lagging when it comes to productivity but with the way of working, enabled by ShareAspace iAIM, we believe it is time to step up and use Digital Twins, Digital Thread and Digital Transformation“, ends Mr Kårdén

For a more in-depth understanding of how ShareAspace iAIM can move your business above and beyond your competition and address real customer needs, please register for the ShareAspace iAIM launch webinar, scheduled for November 10th, between 10.00 and 11.00 CET. We will present ShareAspace iAIM, demonstrate how Digital Twins can be updated and other key features of ShareAspace iAIM.
