STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN – The Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency (NDMA) has launched DIGIMAT, a secure, cloud-based platform designed to modernise how materiel data is collected, validated, and managed across Norway’s defence supply chain. Powered by Eurostep’s ShareAspace, the platform went live in May and marks a major milestone in NDMA’s long-term digital transformation of defence logistics.
At its core, DIGIMAT provides a single, secure environment for collaboration between NDMA and its suppliers. Built on ShareAspace, Eurostep’s proven platform for standards-based data sharing, it enables NDMA to maintain full control of critical information while ensuring it is accessible to the right stakeholders when needed.
NDMA is responsible for procuring, managing, and disposing of military equipment for Norway’s armed forces, overseeing more than 200 procurement projects and 450 active contracts.
With defence spending rising across Europe and the number of NDMA projects increasing rapidly, the agency faces growing demands for accurate, consistent, and timely materiel data from suppliers. Today, this information is often delivered across multiple channels and managed through manual processes, creating inefficiencies, errors, and challenges in maintaining equipment availability.
DIGIMAT addresses these challenges by introducing a single, secure supplier portal that standardises how materiel data is shared with NDMA. This creates a single source of truth and establishes a more consistent and controlled way of working across the supply chain.
Developed through an iterative and collaborative approach, DIGIMAT enables both NDMA and its suppliers to work with more accurate and accessible data. This supports faster maintenance cycles, improved spare-parts planning, and greater transparency in equipment management across the Norwegian Armed Forces.
This represents a significant step forward in NDMA’s mission to ensure Norway’s armed forces have reliable, modern, and well-supported equipment. As the platform evolves, it will play a central role in enabling Norway to respond to the demands of a rapidly changing defence landscape.
“DIGIMAT is more than a technology platform. It is a strategic enabler for how we collaborate, make decisions, and sustain operational readiness. Our expectation is clear: a unified, trusted flow of material data across our entire defence supply chain. By simplifying how our suppliers engage with us and by establishing a single source of truth, we are laying the foundation for faster, smarter, and more resilient logistics. Looking ahead, our vision is to continuously evolve DIGIMAT into a cornerstone capability that ensures the Norwegian Armed Forces are always equipped, prepared, and ready to meet the demands of an increasingly complex security environment.”
– Assistant Director Dag Øyvind Hagen, NDMA
“Eurostep is proud to support NDMA in delivering DIGIMAT and advancing its digital transformation. ShareAspace was key to maintaining control of critical information while enabling secure collaboration across complex defence supply chains. By enabling the secure and efficient sharing of trusted data with appropriate levels of control, we look forward to continuing our collaboration with NDMA to further strengthen the operational availability of Norway’s defence materiel.”
