A faster, more consistent way to work with complex product data
ShareAspace 1.9 introduced a new foundation for managing and sharing product lifecycle data across programmes, suppliers and lifecycle stages.
ShareAspace 1.9.1 focuses on how that foundation performs in daily work, and how it holds up as complexity increases.
See what’s new:
What’s changed
- Extended Integrated Product Support capabilities
- A more usable and consistent Web UI experience
- Improved accessibility with WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance
- Faster and more predictable ways to work with structured data
- Improved performance when dealing with large product structures
- Better visibility into system behaviour and operations
- Platform updates
- And more…
This release improves how you move through data without losing context, complete tasks with fewer steps, and keep work progressing across your teams and organisations.
It also strengthens how information is structured, controlled, and exchanged across programmes, particularly in areas such as Integrated Product Support, reference data management, and supplier workflows.
Improvements to IPS, data governance and supplier workflows
This release strengthens a number of areas introduced in 1.9, particularly around Integrated Product Support and structured data exchange.
For IPS, support has been extended across in-service structures, approvals, and applicability, making it easier to control how parts and documents are defined and used across programmes. Alignment with standards such as S3000L and S2000M has also been extended.
Improvements to reference data management introduce tighter control over imports and updates, reducing the risk of inconsistencies when working across teams and organisations.
RFX workflows have also been expanded, with better support for attachments, clearer linking between requirements and templates, and improved handling of delivery interactions. This strengthens traceability and reduces ambiguity in supplier exchanges.
The data model has been extended to better reflect real-world assets, including additional part properties and support for trade items, helping teams manage regulated and logistics-related information more consistently.
A web experience that holds context while you work
The Web UI introduced in 1.9 has been refined with a clear aim. Keep you in the flow of what you are doing.
You can now spend less time moving between modules to complete a task or check related information. More work stays in one place. You can follow relationships between objects without repeatedly rebuilding your view.
This becomes more noticeable as complexity increases, especially for those working across multiple structures or collections.
Accessibility and adaptable interface
ShareAspace 1.9.1 conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, supporting consistent use across teams with different accessibility needs.
The Web UI can be adjusted to match your working environment. You can now switch between Light, Dark, Classic, and High-contrast themes at any time, and control the level of information density from compact to extra-spacious depending on whether you need an overview or better readability.
What this means for you: Work comfortably without changing how you use the system.
Consistent behaviour when working with data
One of the more noticeable changes we’ve implemented in 1.9.1 is consistency.
Filtering, sorting and exploring data now follow the same logic across the application. Whether you are working in a list, a structure, or an inspector, the behaviour is aligned.
That means:
- Filters return predictable results across lists, structures and inspectors
- Effectivity-controlled data follows the same filtering logic
- Moving between contexts requires less adjustment
What this means for you: Removing uncertainty and reducing rework.
Making large structures easier to understand
As product structures grow, relationships become harder to follow.
This release improves how those structures can be understood.
You can now move between hierarchical and path-based views depending on the task. Filter results are easier to interpret without having to manually trace relationships. Grouped and tree-based views provide a clearer picture of how data fits together.
What this means for you: Large, interconnected data relationships are easier to follow.
Removing inefficiencies from everyday work
A lot of inefficiency comes from small, repeated actions.
Opening references to check their content. Switching views to monitor a process. Moving between modules to confirm a detail.
These actions are still there, but they interrupt you less.
- You can now preview referenced objects without leaving your current view
- Long-running actions are visible in one place through user activities
- Work is handled within fewer, more focused modules
What this means for you: Removing much of the stop-start pattern in complex workflows.
Improved performance where it matters
This release improves how ShareAspace behaves as data grows and becomes more interconnected. That includes:
- Large reference structures with extensive relationships
- Ongoing updates to structured data
- High-volume operations such as file handling and event processing
Indexing performance has been improved, particularly for large reference sets. Event handling is more stable, helping the system remain responsive under load.
What this means for you: Consistent behaviour as data grows
Greater visibility into system behaviour
We’ve introduced additional metrics and logging to provide better insight into how the system operates.
You can now:
- Track operation durations
- Identify where delays occur
- Monitor indexing and event processing
These metrics are exposed through OpenTelemetry and integrate with tools such as Azure Application Insights.
What this means for you: Diagnosing issues is more straightforward.
Platform and deployment updates
The platform has also been updated to align with modern infrastructure practices:
- Support for .NET 10
- Simplified deployment with single-file components
- Improved API behaviour for versioned data and batch operations
What this means for you: The platform is easier to manage and extend over time.
Important changes
- .NET runtime must now be installed separately
- File preview requires LibreOffice for full support
- DataExchange is now included with the ShareAspace Host
